Life Esidimeni (Pty) Ltd is a private sector organization which has been engaged in delivering health care services on the basis of public-private partnership contracts to the national and provincial Departments of Health in South Africa for over five decades. The company works in tandem with Departments of Health and Social Development in delivering healthcare services in line with national and provincial guidelines.

The Company delivers hospital-based services in the fields of chronic mental healthcare, frail care, chronic rehabilitation and district hospitals in five provinces and is considered the largest and oldest public-private partnership in healthcare in the country.

The company is the largest private sector provider in the field of chronic mental health services focusing services on care, treatment and rehabilitation in line with the Mental Health Care Act (MHCA).

Our network of 14 facilities within the 5 provinces providing about 1.7 million patient days per annum and consists of:

• 2 acute care district hospitals consisting of 400 beds and providing about 95,000 inpatient days and 100,000 outpatient visits per annum
• 7 chronic mental heath hospitals consisting of 3200 beds
• 1 chronic rehabilitation hospital consisting of 280 beds
• 3 frail care facilities consisting of 400 beds
