We are recognised throughout the industry for the highest calibre of employees and
standards of nursing.
Our priority is to focus on the delivery of a unique and special brand of health and
care to patients. In a Life Healthcare facility, doctors, nurses and staff each
strive to optimise and enhance the patient’s experience.
We make Life Healthcare a great place to work for all South Africans through:
- an environment in which people are empowered to develop their full potential
- ongoing investment in continual development and enhancement
- fair representation of gender and race
- growth, skills development and career enhancement at all levels
Our employment practices attract and encourage cultural and personal diversity regardless
of colour and race. We run a national diversity forum that monitors cultural issues,
identifies cultural challenges and encourages understanding and sensitivity.
Various investments in development and training are designed to retain and motivate staff to
ever higher standards of health delivery and provision of care:
The Life Healthcare College of Learning in partnership with the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan
University offers a wide range of courses and each year hundreds of nurses receive
diplomas and certificates for their achievements. The College also provides learnerships
to people from previously disadvantaged communities. We run seven learner centres
nationwide, where training initiatives are aimed at producing world class nursing staff.
Practical nursing training is then continued at group hospitals.
Life Pharmacy Management Services run academic and hospital pharmacy internship programmes
to ensure high standards are maintained.
